Neuromod Aqua has raised pre-seed funding from Porush Jain, founder of Sportskeeda, the New Delhi-based water infrastructure startup said. The amount was not disclosed.

Co-founders Anuj Arora and Anand Dad are building a platform to standardise the design, manufacturing, installation and servicing of decentralised sewage and effluent treatment plants, using MBBR, MBR and SBR technologies in place of bespoke, project-based systems.

India generates 72,368 million litres of sewage daily, against installed treatment capacity of 31,841 MLD and actual treatment of just 20,235 MLD, per the Central Pollution Control Board.

The capital will fund a manufacturing facility, deployment of Neuromod’s productised treatment plant across Delhi NCR, and service and spare-parts networks. Jain founded Sportskeeda in 2011; the platform was acquired by Krafton’s esports arm in 2019.
