Recykal has invested ₹10 crore in Walbha Industries, a biomass briquette and pellet manufacturer, for a stake in the bioenergy value chain.
The deal connects Walbha’s production to Recykal’s network of more than 620 brands and manufacturers, giving the manufacturer an immediate demand channel. Walbha will use Recykal’s digital supply-chain platform to digitise its operations. Recykal’s enterprise customers get access to verified biomass fuel. The investment will also fund Walbha’s expansion into South India.
Capacity And Reach
Walbha runs a facility in Jhansi producing 250,000 kg of fuel per day, converting groundnut shells, mustard husk and sawdust into industrial fuel. It currently serves customers across North and Central India.
Recykal, founded in 2015, has channelised over 3 million metric tonnes of waste and works with more than 650 brands and over 5,000 aggregators and recyclers.
