These programs will be accessible through Oracle MyLearn, Oracle’s comprehensive training and enablement platform from Oracle University. The training is designed to provide a foundation in cloud computing and a better understanding of core concepts such as AI, machine learning, data science, and blockchain.

Professional Certifications and Badges

Participants will have the opportunity to earn professional certifications and badges that demonstrate their readiness for specialized job roles. This approach aims to make it easier for employers to identify qualified candidates and support job placement efforts within the state.

Leadership Perspectives

G. Ganesh Kumar, I.A.S, MD & CEO of APSSDC, emphasized the significance of this collaboration:

"Our collaboration with Oracle is a huge milestone in strengthening and expanding the digital capabilities of the youth of Andhra Pradesh."

Shailender Kumar, Senior Vice President and Regional Managing Director of Oracle India and NetSuite – Japan and Asia Pacific, highlighted the urgency of upskilling in the face of AI’s impact on the global workforce:

"With AI reshaping the global workforce, the need for continuous upskilling has never been more urgent."

Broader Context of Skill Development Initiatives

This partnership is part of a broader trend of collaborations between technology companies and state governments in India to enhance digital skills among the youth. For instance, Oracle has launched Project Vidya, aiming to train up to 500,000 youth and women in India by 2028 in technologies like AI, cloud computing, and data science. This initiative includes collaboration with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) to train 100,000 individuals from diverse educational backgrounds. (oracle.com)

Similarly, the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC) has partnered with Oracle to offer training in cloud, data science, and AI to over 200,000 students in the state. (oracle.com)

Implications for the Future Workforce

These initiatives reflect a concerted effort to equip India’s youth with the skills necessary for the evolving digital economy. By providing access to cutting-edge technologies and professional certifications, such programs aim to bridge the gap between education and employment, fostering a workforce ready to meet the demands of the global market.

As AI and cloud technologies continue to transform industries, such collaborations are crucial in preparing the next generation for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
