ShopEase Unveils New AI-Powered Shopping Platform
Share

Glance, a Google-backed consumer tech company and subsidiary of InMobi, has unveiled Glance AI, an artificial intelligence-native commerce platform poised to transform online shopping. This launch signifies a shift from traditional search-driven shopping to an inspiration-led experience, leveraging advanced AI models to anticipate consumer desires.

Introducing Glance AI: A New Era in Online Shopping

Glance AI is now globally accessible as a standalone app on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The platform initially focuses on fashion, with plans to expand into beauty, accessories, and travel, aiming to establish a comprehensive AI-first commerce ecosystem.

How Glance AI Enhances the Shopping Experience

At its core, Glance AI enables users to upload a selfie or image, which the app analyzes to generate hyper-personalized, AI-crafted fashion looks. These recommendations consider individual factors such as body type, skin tone, fit preferences, and style, mapping them in real-time to products from over 400 global brands. Users can explore, purchase, or even set their stylized images as wallpapers, all while maintaining full control over their personal data. (glance.com)

Unlike traditional e-commerce platforms that rely on catalog browsing or keyword searches, Glance AI emphasizes inspiration, aiming to predict consumer desires before they are explicitly expressed. Naveen Tewari, Founder & CEO of InMobi and Glance, stated, "Glance AI reimagines how billions of consumers will discover, visualize and shop—replacing search with intelligent, autonomous agents." (glance.com)

The Technology Behind Glance AI

Glance AI operates on a three-layer AI stack:

  • Commerce Intelligence Model: Trained on extensive global commerce data to understand cultural, seasonal, and behavioral shopping patterns.

  • GenAI Experience Model: Utilizes diffusion models integrated with Google’s Gemini and Imagen on Vertex AI to create hyper-realistic visualizations tailored to individual traits.

  • Transaction Journey Model: Aligns predicted shopping intent with actual product listings from vast global catalogs.

Built on an open architecture, Glance AI extends beyond mobile apps, with plans for integration across smartphones, televisions, and brand retail ecosystems, effectively transforming any digital interface into a live AI shopping environment. (glance.com)

The Rise of the ‘AI Consumer’

The launch of Glance AI heralds the emergence of the "AI consumer"—individuals who expect technology to anticipate their needs rather than merely respond to them. In U.S. beta trials, the app attracted 1.5 million active users within weeks. Half of these users returned weekly, generating over 40 million style requests. More than 40% engaged with shopping links, while 50% downloaded or shared their personalized AI styles, indicating high levels of virality, conversion readiness, and social engagement. (glance.com)

Backed by Industry Leaders

Glance is supported by prominent tech and telecom entities, including Google, Jio Platforms, and Mithril Capital. The company is leveraging its AI-native platform to redefine the consumer shopping experience, particularly in mobile-first and inspiration-driven markets like India and Southeast Asia. (glance.com)

Glance AI: More Than Just an App

Beyond the consumer-facing experience, Glance envisions its AI stack evolving into a "commerce OS"—integrated into brand stores, telecom devices, and retail environments to facilitate end-to-end discovery and transaction journeys. The company has hinted at potential partnerships with handset manufacturers, TV makers, and retail chains, effectively bringing its AI into physical spaces. (glance.com)

The launch of Glance AI represents one of the most ambitious investments in AI-driven commerce infrastructure by a consumer tech company originating in India. As Tewari noted, "This isn’t just about shopping smarter—it’s about imagining commerce from the ground up for the age of generative intelligence." (glance.com)

In a rapidly evolving digital landscape, Glance AI stands out by offering a personalized, AI-driven shopping experience that anticipates and fulfills consumer desires, setting a new standard for online commerce.
