Indian Startups Secure Over $390 Million: Groww Leads the Charge

Between June 09 and June 14, 2025, Indian startups made significant strides by raising over $390 million across various sectors. This robust funding week highlights the growing investor confidence in India’s dynamic startup ecosystem. At the forefront of this surge is Groww, a stock brokerage platform, which secured a substantial $200 million.

Key Highlights of the Funding Week

During this period, 19 startups across diverse sectors such as Defencetech, Sportstech, Agritech, AI, Fintech, Wealthtech, Apparel, Lending, Gaming, and Entertainment attracted investments. This diversity underscores the broad spectrum of innovation and potential within the Indian market.

  • Wow! Momo: Raised $9.8 million in debt, reflecting the continued appetite for innovative food brands.

This period also saw strategic mergers and acquisitions, further consolidating the market:

  • Epic and Tynker: Acquired by TAL Education and CodeHS, respectively, these acquisitions highlight the growing importance of educational technology.

  • WLDD and RPSG: WLDD’s acquisition of Imagined Studio and RPSG’s acquisition of MensXP parent company Lifestyle Network (ILN) indicate a trend towards diversification and expansion in digital media.
