StartupTN Launches TANSEED 8.0: A Boost for Early-Stage Startups

StartupTN, the Tamil Nadu government’s nodal agency for startups and innovation, has announced the launch of TANSEED 8.0. Since its inception in 2021, TANSEED has funded 169 startups, helping them scale operations and attract venture capital. The eighth edition, starting December 6, 2025, builds on the success of previous rounds and offers new opportunities for budding entrepreneurs.

Eligibility and Application Process

To qualify for TANSEED 8.0, startups must:

  • Be registered in Tamil Nadu and with StartupTN
  • Be recognized by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT)
  • Demonstrate potential for job creation, social impact, or wealth generation

Funds can be used for:

  • Prototype development
  • Building market-ready products
  • Pilot production

It’s important to note that entities formed by splitting existing businesses, subsidiaries or joint ventures of other companies, and Indian arms of foreign firms are not eligible.
