Chennai-based SaaS startup Rocketlane has secured $60 million in a Series C funding round led by Insight Partners, bringing its total funding to $105 million. This significant capital injection highlights the growing interest in professional services automation (PSA) solutions, a sector that Rocketlane is pioneering with its AI-driven platform, Nitro.

## Rocketlane’s Vision and Growth

Rocketlane, founded by Srikrishnan Ganesan, Vignesh Girishankar, and Deepak Bala, focuses on digitising customer onboarding and project delivery. The company aims to transform how professional services teams operate, allowing them to scale efficiently without increasing headcount. The recent funding will be used to enhance the capabilities of its Nitro platform, expand enterprise market initiatives, and bolster global operations. Rocketlane has reported a doubling of its revenue over the past year, driven by new offices in London, New York, and San Francisco, and a 4.5× increase in average deal size since 2023.

## Competitive Landscape and Market Context

The professional services automation market is becoming increasingly competitive, with global IT service spending projected to reach $1.9 trillion, according to Gartner. Traditional PSA tools often require substantial manual effort, but Rocketlane’s AI-first approach aims to streamline these processes. The startup is part of a broader trend where enterprises seek to operationalise AI and technology investments efficiently. Rocketlane’s ability to attract significant funding in this environment underscores its potential to disrupt the PSA market. The startup serves over 750 global clients, including 17 companies on the Forbes Cloud 100 list, showcasing its strong market position.

## Implications for India’s Startup Ecosystem

Rocketlane’s success reflects the growing maturity of India’s SaaS sector, which is attracting substantial venture capital interest. The country’s startup ecosystem has seen a shift towards more specialised, enterprise-focused solutions, moving beyond consumer-centric apps. This trend aligns with India’s increasing role as a hub for technology innovation and enterprise software development. The substantial funding rounds being raised by companies like Rocketlane indicate a robust appetite for scalable, tech-driven solutions that address complex business needs. This momentum is likely to inspire other Indian startups to explore niche markets and leverage AI to enhance their offerings.

As Rocketlane continues to expand its global footprint and refine its platform, the company is poised to play a pivotal role in the evolution of professional services automation. The coming months will likely see further developments in its technology and strategic partnerships, as it seeks to solidify its position in the global SaaS landscape.
