Prime Minister Narendra Modi has named Infosys cofounder Nandan Nilekani to head a six-member task force on examination reform, a day after Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned amid student protests over alleged NEET irregularities.

The panel also includes former ISRO chairman S Somanath, former Intelligence Bureau director Tapan Deka, IIT Madras director V Kamakoti, former education secretary Anita Karwal, and logistics expert Amrit Lal Meena. Modi said the government would adopt the group’s recommendations and expand technology use to secure exams run by the National Testing Agency.

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh asked why recommendations from earlier examination reform panels were never implemented.
