Equirus InnovateX Fund, the early-stage venture arm of Equirus Group, has successfully closed its first enterprise technology fund at Rs 166 crore. This milestone marks a significant step in supporting startups focused on deep tech, software-as-a-service (SaaS), and fintech.

Focus on Emerging Startups

The fund targets seed and pre-Series A startups, primarily those that are post-product and working towards achieving product-market fit. By investing in early-stage companies, Equirus InnovateX aims to nurture innovation and drive growth in the tech sector.

Key Investors and Leadership

The fund attracted both domestic and global investors, including notable figures like Girish Gaitonde of Xoriant, M.R. Jyothy of Jyothy Labs, and Dhimant Bhayani of iRevo. The leadership team, comprising Krishna Jha, Sunder Nookala, and Sadhika Agarwal, brings a wealth of experience in building and backing successful companies.

Strategic Investment Approach

Equirus InnovateX Fund has already deployed over one-third of its corpus across seven startups, with plans to expand its portfolio to up to 15 companies. Current investments include:

  • Pointo
  • Datazip
  • GreenStitch
  • CtrlB
  • Consuma AI
  • RSPL
  • NeverInstall

The remaining capital is expected to be deployed over the next 12 to 18 months.

According to Sunder Nookala, Partner at Equirus InnovateX Fund, “At the seed and pre-series A stage, capital alone is not the differentiator – context and conviction are.” This perspective highlights the importance of strategic support beyond financial investment.

Krishna Jha, another Partner at the fund, emphasized the role of ex-operators in guiding startups: “As a firm of ex-operators, our focus is on partnering with these founders as they walk the long road from early idea to enduring, category-defining company.”
